Story

The coming weekend is a long weekend. We will be using the opportunity to raise money for Bushfire Assistance and Wildlife Rescue Victoria.

We will be opening up our classes over the weekend to members and their friends and family. There will be a collection tin at the gym (and an online fundraising option), and ask that anyone who comes along to class over the long weekend makes a small donation. I will be donating my wages for those days as well.

To say thank you to you all, we will have free snacks and coffee available in the gym.

As it’s a long weekend, and to give anyone who’s not currently a member a chance to sample a range of our classes, there are some small changes to our usual class schedule as set out below (and as you will see when you sign in through Zenplanner). Non members are welcome to come as many times as they like over the long weekend (each class requiring a gold coin or more donation).

Saturday 24 January

8:00-10am - Olympic Weightlifting

Sunday 25 January

8:00-9:00am - Conditioning

9:00-10:00am - Mobility

Monday 26 January

8:00-9:00am - Handstands

9:00-10:00am - Upper Body Strength

It will a fun day, so come down, do a class, have a snack and help us do our bit to help out those affected by the fires.

Spaces will be limited to 20 people per class, so please make sure you sign up through Zenplanner to reserve your spot. Non-members can book into classes by filling out the details below.

If you have trouble please fee free to call us on 0422 119 181 and or leave us a message. You can also drop by 15-30 min before on the day to register.

Feel free to pass this on to your friends and family - the more the merrier!

Wildlife Victoria Inc.

Since 1989, Wildlife Victoria has safeguarded Victoria’s remarkable wildlife through rescue, advocacy, and education. In 2022 we introduced our wildlife specialist Travelling Veterinary Service, the only one of its kind in Australia.

Humanity’s very survival on our planet depends on the vast array of biodiversity our wildlife helps form. The life of every one of our native animals is invaluable to our ecosystem and ourselves. At Wildlife Victoria we are driven by a deep passion to be their unwavering voice as our home continues to change. The effects of climate change, habitat destruction and urbanisation, have seen a consistent increase in demand for our services each year.

Last year we received over 160,000 calls for help and directly assisted more than 97,000 individual animals. Our Travelling Veterinary Service provided free veterinary treatment to over 1,650 native animals in care and in the wild. The rescue service relies on an extensive state-wide network of rescue and transport volunteers, veterinarians who provide pro-bono services for wildlife, and licensed carers and shelters who accept animals into their care for rehabilitation and release.

By choosing to donate to us, you can join our mission to protect and preserve the extraordinary wildlife that makes Victoria’s landscape one we all cherish.

Together, we can make a difference for their future and ours.
