Story
Hair today, gone tomorrow?
As many of you will know from experience, either personally or via friends and family, the RFDS is an amazing organisation that delivers critical health services across regional Australia. Now more than ever, they are playing a vital role in supporting remote communities in very worrying times.
I see a lot of how the RFDS operates on a day to day basis (full disclosure, for those of you who don't know, my hubby works there), but have also seen the benefit of a close relative receiving life saving treatment because of the RFDS, and even an EPA team member getting the ride of their life, literally, at the hands of the RFDS.
In our ROR catch up last week, the ever-lovely John Forcier (yes that will embarrass him) suggested we have a beard growing competition. I'm not sure about all of you, but last time I tried to grow a beard of Johns' magnitude, it too me FOREVER and I gave up. John says that it grows back over a weekend. I'm not so sure.
So if I can't grow a good looking beard, what could I do to entice you all to contribute some of your hard-earned towards a very worthy cause?
It seems that an online head shave at one of our call-ins will do the trick nicely. Here is your opportunity to support a great cause and see me "tear my hair out" at your expense. Really - its your expense.
My challenge to the ROR staff is to raise $20k for the RFDS in return for my hair. All of it. I have a further commitment that Carmen will go blonde at $25k and that fabulous Forcier beard will meet the floor at $30k. You never know who else might join the challenge for the right incentive :)
Please consider contributing to the goal, as a collective EPA team, share the hell out of it, and lets make a real difference to an organisation that makes a huge difference to 1000's of people every year.
It grows back, right?
Many thanks in advance
Cate
