Support Team Westpac to #WearTheChange2020
Participating team members will commit to wearing the same garment every day from June 15-19 (Refugee Week) to showcase fashion that is made fair, made for good & good for the planet!
This challenge raises funds for The Social Outfit’s community program that support refugee & new migrant women to settle better in Sydney.

About The Social Outfit: A fashion label with a difference, The Social Outfit provides fair and dignified employment pathways in the fashion industry to female humanitarian migrants, many of whom come with amazing sewing skills and experience! Only 20% of women from refugee backgrounds are engaged in the workforce, and research shows the need for customized pathways to employment to support a more positive settlement experience.
The Social Outfit's clothing collections are not only ethically made right here in Sydney, but they also collaborate with local brands to rescue their excess fabrics and trims from landfill and give them a new life in our clothing collections. www.thesocialoutfit.org
What will the funds be used for? All funds raised will go towards supporting The Social Outfit to bring their community learning programs online. In response to Covid-19, The Social Outfit rapidly began moving their sewing, craft and retail training programs online, now funding is urgently needed to further design, develop and implement these programs to support refugee women with quality training and employment pathways.

We’re an independently-accredited, ethical trading social enterprise that provides employment and training in the fashion industry to people from refugee and new migrant communities in clothing production, retail, design, and marketing. We believe that tapping into the creativity of refugee communities leads to empowerment and social inclusion. We focus on supporting refugee and new migrant women and young people to be work ready and develop goals for their future so they can feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
