Support Team Westpac to #WearTheChange2020
BECAUSE THE CLOTHES WE WEAR CAN CHANGE THE WORLD!
Wear The Change is an ethical fashion styling challenge held during Refugee Week 2021.
Participating team members will commit to wearing the same garment every day from June 21-25 June (Refugee Week) to showcase fashion that is made fair, made for good & good for the planet!
The campaign raises funds for The Social Outfit’s non-profit community programs supporting women from refugee and new migrant backgrounds with training and employment pathways in the fashion industry.

About The Social Outfit:
The Social Outfit is a non-profit, social enterprise clothing label based in Newtown, Sydney. A fashion label with a difference - they operate a retail store and ethical manufacturing workroom where provide training and employment to women from refugee and new migrant backgrounds.
Did you know that only 20% of women from refugee backgrounds are engaged in the workforce? We know that work empowers women and employment is important for a positive settlement experience. Since 2014, Social Outfit have employed 49 people from refugee and new migrant backgrounds and almost 500 people have participated in their community training programs. 85% of people who have worked at The Social Outfit have moved on to other employment.
The Social Outfit is also committed to environmental sustainability and collaborates with local brands to rescue their excess fabrics and trims from landfill and give them a new life through our clothing collections. To date, The Social Outfit has saved over 8 tonnes of fabric waste from landfill. www.thesocialoutfit.org
What will the funds be used for?
Your donation will support The Social Outfit to further expand their operations and work towards a second location in Western Sydney enabling them to reach more refugee and new migrant women with creative training programs that build a pathway to employment.

We’re an independently-accredited, ethical trading social enterprise that provides employment and training in the fashion industry to people from refugee and new migrant communities in clothing production, retail, design, and marketing. We believe that tapping into the creativity of refugee communities leads to empowerment and social inclusion. We focus on supporting refugee and new migrant women and young people to be work ready and develop goals for their future so they can feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
